Zinergy attended IEEE FLEPS 2019 which was held in in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central. Dr Dilek Ozgit, co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Zinergy UK, gave a talk on a light and flexible “wear-and-forget” companion device called Re-Patch for ambient assisted living. Developed in a joint effort between two Cambridge based start-ups namely Cambridge Innovation Technologies Consulting (CITC) Ltd. and Zinergy UK Ltd., this medical device uses sensors to measure various health and environmental parameters. The patch has the capacity to communicate wirelessly with a monitor and is powered by RFID when close to the base station. The read range is extended by incorporating an ultra-thin zinc-based battery and a supercapacitor both developed by Zinergy UK.
IEEE FLEPS 2019 is intended to provide a forum for research scientists and engineers throughout the world to present their latest research findings, ideas, and applications in the area of flexible and printable sensors and systems.
